Lentil Soup

Perfect for a cold & snowy night like tonight. Comes together in about 30 minutes, but best if it simmers for a while. Or the next day.

8 oz sausage (we like mild Italian or chorizo, but kielbasa would be good too)
1 small diced onion
3 cloves minced garlic

32 oz chicken broth
2 large diced carrots (about 1 cup)
8 oz bag lentils
14.5 oz undrained can diced tomatoes
1 head chopped swiss chard (or kale, spinach, or other greens)
1 Tbs worcestershire sauce
pepper to taste

Brown sausage, garlic, & onions in large soup pot until cooked through. Add other ingredients & simmer 15-20 minutes, or until lentils are tender.
Good topped with parmesan cheese & some crusty bread for dipping.
